Eid Al Adha is a great festival of the Islamic religion. This is about the sacrifice of Ibrahim (Abraham) and his beloved son, Great Prophets of God (Allah). Eid Al Adha Is The Great Islamic Festival Of Sacrifice:
Muslims sacrifice their animals on this festival and divide its meat into three parts. One part of the Family, the second part for their relatives and the third one is for poor Muslims. This event continues for three days as Eid Al Fitr. People make get together and celebrate their happiness and joy. Many Muslims travel to Mecca (Saudi Arabia) In the period around the days of Eid Ul Adha to offer Hajj (Pilgrimage).
Many countries organize package holidays for the Hajj. Muslims plan this event from many years to take a part of this religious event. Hajj (Pilgrimage) is one main part of Islam and this is the fifth pillar of Islam.
The celebration of Eid Al Adha:
Eid Al Adha is a public holiday in all Muslim countries, like Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Jordan, Turkey, UAE, and others. But Muslims which are living in non-muslim countries also make holidays on this Event. It is not a national holiday in non-Muslim countries like Australia, America, Canada, UK, and others. But some Muslim organizations make a holiday in these countries.
History of Eid Al Adha:
Hazrat Ibrahim who is known as Abraham in Jewish and Christian religion was commanded by God to sacrifice his adult son. He obeyed and took his son Hazrat Ismail to Mount Moria. Just as Hazrat Ibrahim was to sacrifice his son, an angel stopped him and gave him a Ram to sacrifice in place of his son Ismail. Eid Al Adha is remembered & celebrated in the remembrance of this history.
